Motherhood, wow what an emotional rollercoaster and challenge it can be! Some days you feel at your wits end, exhausted and a bit of a wreck and at other points you feel like superwoman! I’m finding that that specific range of emotions can actually occur quite often and all before 9 am!
Wow- I feel a mixture of emotions after reading an article in the Guardian today entitled, ‘The secret life of a midwife: I feel like I work in a factory, not on a maternity ward'.
I feel sadness, admiration and motivation all at once and here’s why!
Hypnobirthing originates from a very particular philosophy. The female body is designed to give birth and the vast majority of women can give birth naturally, smoothly and easily. Only a small minority of women would fall under the category of a ‘special circumstance’ where more medical support or intervention would be required.
Babies in Waiting have been successfully holding their unique Pregnancy Relaxation Sessions for around four years now. Over the years, we have seen how the sessions have supported women positively during their pregnancy. We have noticed the impact that regular relaxation has had on enhancing feelings of wellbeing and confidence for birth. We thoroughly enjoy delivering the sessions and we know that they are a pleasant experience for the ladies attending.
1) You get to wear a much bigger bra than you ever thought it would be possible to wear pre pregnancy! Even if your maternity bra isn't the most glamorous, it's probably a good two sizes bigger than what you would usually wear. Embrace the boulder holders!
2) It is socially acceptable to nap in the day! Enjoy those beautiful guilt free mid afternoon weekend naps or maternity leave siestas. Savour every moment and indulge.
Everyone knows it is beneficial to relax during pregnancy but do you really realise just how crucial it is?
For a few years now Babies in Waiting have been delivering Pregnancy Relaxation Sessions. We have found that it’s a great opportunity for a pregnant lady to tune out of the distractions of every day life and to spend an hour focussing on the experience of being pregnant and bonding with their baby.
But other than being an enjoyable way to spend an hour, what are the benefits of this form of Pregnancy Relaxation?
Pregnant or breastfeeding? Don’t suffer in silence this summer with your Hayfever!
Does sneezing, a runny nose and itchy eyes sound familiar? Does the thought of lighter evenings and sunnier days fill you with dread?
The onset of spring can bring such positivity but also the dreaded Hayfever season!
Pregnancy and Hayfever can be daunting. Your normal over the counter drugs, nasal spray, antihistamines are no longer your friend as you are advised not to take them during Pregnancy.
